The Beauty of the Sea

I'm Back!

I've returned from the artic tundra after taking a true vacation. Didn't answer work email, didn't blog, didn't keep up with my usual sites, didn't do any church work..... just spent time with my loud and potentially psychotic family. Okay, I did some shopping too. One of the highlights of my trip was being able to spend a little time working on the Canadian federal election. I worked for one of the best candidates I've seen in years, Andrew House. It was great to work for someone of integrity who seems to really get it. I also had the chance to work on some photography (which may be used in some campaign material). Whoo hoo! That's it - a fabulous dork Christmas story.

Persons of the Year

Given my love of Bono and my newfound love of Microsoft, this is big news. I'm just relieved to see people honored for the good that the do, rather than for creating destruction.

Congratulations Bono, Bill & Melinda. And thank you.

She's Here!!

Many thanks for all the suggestions of a name for my new iPod. They were creative and enthusiastic. However, they were not publishable, so I moderated them like the evil despot the I am.

I have christened my new iPod Daria after my favorite cartoon character. Clearly I have been spending too much time around my tech buddies at work, as I'm now naming things after cartoon characters.

I look forward to many hours of enjoyment together with Daria. I'm currently searching for a fabulous cover for Daria. I hear Roots has some cute ones, so I'll check when I'm in the Great White North later this week.

Needing Suggestions

My beloved iPod Ellie was sent away in a box today. The Apple person on the phone indicated that she might be unfixable (the iPod). So, it's quite possible that in 7 days I will have a new iPod.

I need suggestions on names. Any thoughts??

A Sad Day in My World

The rumors are unfortunately not overexaggerated. After only 6 months in my life, my beloved iPod Ellie appears to have left me for the big Apple store in the sky. wimper The Apple people assure me that they will try to get me a replacement before I leave for Christmas vacation, I don't hold out much hope. How am I going to survive long travels without my beloved iPod??

It's amazing to me how much joy that little thing has brought to my life. Interesting to see how much its demise has managed to affect me over the last 48 hours. Just feeding into the general feeling of burnout and that everything's falling apart.

Do you think I can call on Santa to get my new iPod to me faster??

I'm a Princess...

Well, not really. But, if I was, evidently I'd be Belle.

You're BELLE from BEAUTY AND THE BEAST!
Warm, kind and caring, you always bring out the
best in others, but tend to keep to yourself
and a few close friends who you love dearly.
You love books and dream of fairytale
adventures. You know that beauty lies within
and don't depend on looks alone. You think it's
good to be individual and different to others,
but don't go out of your way to be rebellious
- you just naturally stand out. You're a strong
person, but also ladylike and intelligent. You
look forward to change. You'd definitely break
the Beast's spell.
